How To Obtain Lower Motor Insurance If You Are A Male Driver

It is quite common knowledge that men are more expensive to insure than their female counterparts. A young male under the age of 25 will be the most expensive person to insure. But why is this? The fact of the matter is that men are statistically more responsible for motor vehicle accidents than women. In addition to this, they are also accountable for more traffic violations, including driving whilst under the influence. Driving whilst under the influence leads to the most amount of collisions on the roads, and this is a very serious offence.

So why are the males of the human species such poor drivers? This can be attributed to their testosterone. Men are more likely to be influenced by aggression than women drivers; this is especially the case with a less mature male under the age of 25. Road rage is common among males, as well as them being prone to attacks of ego which influence them to race other drivers or disobey road rules. It is also a more common statistic that most motor accidents on the roads are caused by male drivers. The age factor could have something to do with it too. Regardless of gender, any drivers under the age of 25 will have to pay a higher premium due to their lack of solid driving history. Because they have not had as much experience driving on the roads, young drivers are deemed as being higher risk. This, coupled with being of the male gender, can attribute to a very high insurance premium. So if you are a male driver under the age of 25, what can you do to lower your auto insurance premium?

The first thing you should take into consideration is the motor vehicle you are driving. Give an under 25 male driver a sports car or something that is notorious for going fast, then you are simply asking for an exorbitant car insurance premium! There are also motor vehicles that are more infamous for being stolen. These cars will have a higher premium due to their high theft risk. This is why the first thing you can do to save money on your premium is to purchase a car that is not expensive to insure. Find out which vehicles are listed by insurance companies as being involved in accidents more commonly or are popular theft targets. Then you need to steer clear of these motor vehicles. Luxury vehicles will also be more expensive to insure.

The next thing you can do to lower your insurance premium is to ensure that you have the best security system installed in your motor vehicle. This means a loud alarm, a gear lock, an immobilizer and even a car tracking system. The more efficient and high tech your security system, the lower your car insurance premium will be!

Lastly, you have to make sure you are the best driver possible. This means passing your license test and then not having any accidents if you can avoid them. Drive carefully at all times, always observing the road rules. Any tickets on your name can send your premium skyrocketing!
